Sixth Mail Auction Report
Our sixth auction had only 17 bidders, 14 were successful and of the 89 lots offered, 50 were sold. Listings for lots #84-89 arrived too late for publication in the Specialist but were included on the Web site. Several members made some nice additions to their collections at bargain prices.
There were several ties, In that case the lot went to the earliest bid received (if by mail, the postmark mailing date). There were some hot lots, those generated maximum bids of 3, 4 times the opening bid. A couple of the lots received 5 or 6 bids. The best news is that the auction, with sales of just over $1,300, generated Society commissions that represent more than the dues of 3 memberships.
