Lot List – Auction 4

Fourth Mail Auction Report

Our fourth auction had 26 bidders, 15 were successful and of the 111 lots offered, only 47 were sold. In the years to come, I am sure that some will look back and realize the “bargains” that they missed. I look back at the offerings in the Specialist when I first joined and see Berlin Bear sheets selling for 50 cents.

There were some hot lots, those generated maximum bids of 2, 3 or 4 times the opening bid.  The post office took about 3 weeks to deliver the Specialist, so everyone only had a short time to read and place their bids. The best news is that the auction, with sales of just over $1,100, generated Society commissions that represent almost than the equivalent of 3 memberships.

The sold lots and in parenthesis (X), the number of bids for that lot;
